Woken up by the call for the Doctor’s Report about 6:15 am. The Doctor’s Report was the same – you looked great. The Doctor said that you were getting tired of laying in bed all day. Good, when you are getting irritated with little stuff, then the big stuff is getting less energy.

I did not write anything else for Saturday

Woke up about 5:40 am and decided to go ahead and get up. Took a shower in the guest bathroom (at our house) for the first time. It wasn’t too bad. Left the house about 6:40 am. Was back at the hospital by 7:00 am. They didn’t call us back up for the Doctor’s Report until 8:30 and we stood up there until 9:00 am. Report was good-Dave is doing amazing. I went back to the ICU waiting area-not enough time for a nap before the 10:30 am visit. Karen, our neighbor walked in soon after I returned with today’s paper and a bag full of mail. It was good to see her. She had been calling every morning to check on how he was doing. I went through thte mail and we visited. She walked with me to McDonald’s to get his breakfast burrito and hash brown. I also got a fruit smoothie. She paid for it. We sat on a bench waiting for visiting time. Michelle and David got here just in time to go up. Karen didn’t stay long. Michelle and David left after the 20 minutes. I, of course took advantage and stayed a few extra minutes. When I went down, Michelle and I chatted, went to get coffee and chatted some more. She went with me to Pizza Hut to get wings for Dave and a personal pan pizza for me. When we returned, I hugged them goodbye and headed up to the 1:30 pm visit. The only people l that I knew of that were coming to visit were not coming until 2:45 pm Dave is beginning to get a little stir crazy. They said that I can leave his cell phone and computer with him. So I did, and he called Turley. He didn’t want me to leave the computer after all. I stayed until 2:30 and headed back to the ICU waiting area. Andrea and her husband Lee showed up. I had never met Lee, but was glad to have the opportunity to. They stayed until I went up for the 4:30 visit. While I was sitting in the waiting area, a woman from church that I had never met had my name called over the loudspeaker. She knew that I was here and just wanted to check on Dave! At the 4:30 visit, I was prepared to camp out until 9:00 pm. Richard, Dave, and Ron came to the 4:30 visit. They prayed with Dave, even inviting the nurse to join them, then headed for Awana’s. Richard was able to stay a little bit longer. Dave had more energy than he has had in a while. We wrote a letter to his best friend, John. We talked a lot, then at 7:00, we watched Amazing Race. After that, I gave him a quick sponge bath. We finished just in time for the 8:30 visit. His mom came in for that visit. She was returning from her conference in Florida and would stay the night. When Evelyn and I left at 9:00, I realized that I had left my cell phone on the window sill in Dave’s room. I had to call and have someone let me back in. I felt so bad. After the sponge bath, when Dave stood up before returning to bed, he pulled me into an embrace, and kissed me. When I pulled away, he said, “See, I’m OK!” It was so romantic, and reassuring of him and thoughtful. I rode home with Evelyn and got a few things done and was in bed around 10:30 pm.
